Stubborn discus pair
So my pigeon blood pair of discus is making me mad. They spawn just fine in the main tank but do nothing in the 29g tank by themselves. I'm thinking of moving them back into one of the 2 discus community tanks. I figure I can try again with them later on......

Re: Stubborn discus pair
I don't have any dithers, and I don't want to buy any and possibly bring in a disease.

Re: Stubborn discus pair
I will probably put them back into the 90g discus community and throw in an egg crate divider when they spawn in there and hope for the best.....

Re: Stubborn discus pair
Well they have been back in the 90g separated off to one end by a divider and today they are both busily cleaning the stick they have always spawned on

Re: Stubborn discus pair
The 3 adolfoi corys are the only fish that can make it through the egg carte and the pair are fending them off well!
I think they had to see other discus to spawn, they went about 2 months in the 29g by themselves with nothing.....
I may end up putting in another divider once I get a 3rd working pair and just turn the pretty planted 90g tank into a discus breeder. Put the singles and plecos and albino corys into the 120g tank, I would leave the adolfoi corys in there as scavengers because they seem to move through the dividers without issue.

Re: Stubborn discus pair
I am glad its working too, they had me down right frustrated!
3 pairs in a planted 90g would be easier than each pair in their own tank. And if I get that many working pairs and they all have fry the fry could wander and feed on any adult they want lol

In a day or 2 they will be wigglers, if they stay that long..... They should but discus are a pain in the neck to breed!
