Re: The 55 salt saga
Well getting new growth in the 55. Found a purple sponge today and seem to have a ton of baby margarita snails showing up.

They aren't margaritas, I forget what they are called but they are good snails, you got them from my live rock. So now you dont have to buy snails!!!!
Sponges are so fun!

Re: The 55 salt saga
I was bad today. Went to petco to get some nori for Perry and was looking at the fish. I came home with 2 striped sleeper gobies. No worries they are in QT.
What's best is they are very enthusiastic eaters. The eat mysis and pellet food right off the bat. They even chase it down instead of wait for it to fall in front of their faces.

Re: The 55 salt saga
parapercis schauinslandi judging by the pic on FB
You really really cant do impulse buys with salt, especially with fish! If you see a fish you cant live without research the heck out of it BEFORE buying it!
You saw what I went through to get those pistol shrimps and damsel out of my tank, now think of trying that in a reef.... You would either have to do a tear apart and pull most rock out or play with a fish trap and those take quite some time!

Re: The 55 salt saga
Ya.... they came with my original salt set up along with the damsel. But getting them out taught me to always be sure of a critter before you add it!

Good thing they are still in QT and easy to catch. But from what I read they are safe. Will read more though

Re: The 55 salt saga
They harass any bottom dweller that is added after them and they get kinda aggressive, You seem to like smaller bottom dwellers and smaller fish in general, so they wont be a good fit for your tank.....
