    My L46, zebra plecos

Post by Fern on Thu Mar 10, 2011 10:52 am

I have 5 of theses guys in a 30g tank. 3 F1's along 2 years old and a wild caught pair of adults. I have had them all for along a year and a half now and no signs of spawning yet. I have tried everything in the books to make them spawn but nothing yet. I guess it will just take time....

With what they cost they truly deserve their own tank. My 3 little F1's cost $100 each and were under 1" when I got them.
I really never see much more than a tail from time to time.......

They are quite hard to find mainly because of how much they go for. They have also banned export on them from Brazil.

Just did a 5g water change on them with pure RO, they are in a 30g tank.
There is a nice storm front rolling in and I have the windows open to let in the barometric pressure change..... Plan on doing the same thing for the next few days, it is supposed to be raining all week cheers

REALLY NICE FERN! the most prized plecos in my book. 100 bucks each is a good deal. i think i read there spawns were small and not regular.
    either way awesome fish

I think I paid somewhere in the rang for $350 for the adult wc pair. They are expensive for sure! With the dam planned right in their natural habitat they may get wiped out in the wild. So get em while you can lol

yes and once they only in tanks and are slow breeders they will continue to be in demand and get more expensive.
