Okay guys and gals get on your thinking caps and dig out the silicone, rock, PVC..........!

Our next contest is going to be a 3 month long contest so it will give you time to plan and test. Come up with an idea, can be decoration, mechanical, electrical anything you think up or have been wanting to try aquarium related. This my be the incentive to build that project that is in your head. Continued posts with process of your project or a if a smaller project one post. Pics, progress and outcome of the project is all you need. Please be original projects that you or you and a buddy are doing yourself. (so get those wives , hubbies, Fathers, Mothers, family, best friends to help out)

The winner will receive a $75 gift certificate to Home Depot. (if you win and there is no Home Depot close to you let us know and we will use a Hardware store closer to you)

If you know of someone who is not on our forum and doing a DIY project invite them to join FishAddicts and enter the contest.

The contest will end on Friday Sept 30th at 12 midnight and the winner will be announced on Wednesday Oct 5th.

Any comments or questions you can PM Fern or myself. This contest is for everyone except Administrators.

Here is the start of my aquarium entry for the DIY. I have a budget of $3200 so this is going to be a high end deal or a very expensive mistake.
In this picture you will see my investment to date is $250 (what I paid) for a fluval FX5. If you believe in ghosts that white dot is an "ORB" there is no white dot on that wall. The exercise machine has nothing to do with the tank, and at this point nothing to do with exercise, lol I use it to hang my shipping scale on.

For the container it was a craft holder container with the lid and I put a hole big enough for the airline for the filter and then holes for the zip ties to hold the filter to the lid. Have lots of silicon on it lol not really. The cave is a plastic cup with gravel siliconed to it. All I bought was the sand-$2 the heater-$14 and the fish $4 oh and the stupid silicon lol

    Zeketaz,
I hate to say it but I would vote for your bottle over mine. You recycled two things just like me but you sure came out with a much better end result.
You say it might become something else, because it leaks? Do that!, Do that! You should save this project for the build a tank out of a household item contest. Wink
