    Salt tanks. Empty Salt tanks.

Post by williemcd Thu Jun 16, 2011 11:19 pm

I wrote earlier about my good fortune but wouldn't share the price because I was going to sell them via CL.. but.. So.. I paid 700.00 for the following: 155G fresh tank/stand/lights/sump/UV etc, 230G with all plus a chiller, 2 9G 1/4 cylinders complete and a 144G 1/2 cylinder complete.. That's for the tanks.. Plus a 50 foot pond hosting about 60 Koi ranging in size from 5-6 up to 16 inches.. Very nice Koi I might add.. oh.. the pond also had two fountains... one 7 feet tall which is 3 marlin tail walking and each spouting water and the other was a 5 foot american eagle coming in for a grab on two fish (each spouting water)... Plus a pump that is feeding a 8 foot waterfall and the two fountains 45 feet away.. I'm guessing it's at least 10K gph.... oh.. plus two big filters with their own pumps...Sold the 2 fountains.. I'm in the black.. sold 12 Koi.. very black.. went to get more Koi.. 51 are floating.... The cops showed up and we all think someone poisoned the pond.. Did manage to rescue 4 6-7 inchers...
And I still have the tanks to hump out starting tomorrow!...
My wife thought I was crazy to suggest it.. and now reluctantly acknowledges that it wasn't such a hairbrained scheme... Bill in Va.
Anyone want me to post pics? Bill Still in Va.

In retrospect it was reassuring that my immediate reaction was for the fish.... The money can be made up.. the fish doesn't have a 2nd chance... But it would have been nice to pay a couple of months worth of mortgage!.. Bill in Va.

Oh.. I've since have humped about 4 tons of rock out of that enclousure.. luckily it's but 1/2 mile away from me... but now.. tomorrow.. the back hoe is showing up at 10:00 to scrape what rock I left to fill the void and pour cement over it.. I've got to be there in the early a.m. to pull the pumps and filters... Oh.. forgot.. picked up a string of 6 underwater lights from there with a big ole control unit!... Aquatic Designs....
