Ameca splendens

Just got 9 of these guys off aquabid
The males have the yellow on the tail. These are very cool fish who are hardy and love to eat hair algae. They are extinct in the wild as well. So this brings my colony up to 11








After a 2 week qt they will go in my 8'x4'x1.5' planted sump with the other 2

It took a while to locate theses guys and they weren't cheap, reasonable though.

I am hoping to get a nice large colony of them going in my sump. Then I can sell some to other fishkeepers so that this glorious species wont become fully extinct.

They'll do well in the canal by the school. Seems like everything you out if there was great. (just don't get caught please)

Honestly I think you're sump will be a great breeding ground for them.

No introducing of exotics by me, I know first hand the destruction it causes.

The sump is about as close to nature as you can get they should do very very well, my original pair are doing well in there!

Had one die the other day of unknown causes.... they all look fine so I'm stumped.
