So yesterday I was rooting about in my discus tank cleaning out some dead plant leaves. I noticed that my trident fern and java moss stick was fairly overgrown so I pulled it out to trim it up. Thank god I did!!! My big male long fin bristlenose pleco was very very tangled in the moss! Took a bit of scissor work to get him free but he seem ok if a little traumatized.

Moral of the story; Don't let you java moss grow out of hand in any tank that has bottom dwellers with hard spines!

I was trimming it down in general, ya it was a tangled mess. Ripped most of the moss off.
Yes you did get some trident fern and java moss, the rest landed in a fry tank to deal with later.

I had a cichlid get stuck in a conch shell once. When he came out, he just swam in circles for about 4 hrs.Next day he was fine.
