Mine was finding a 55gallon tank on the side of the road for free a month ago. Used it to house the turtle a few weeks and now have sold it for 60 bucks. Sounds good to me anyway.

I'm getting a heavy duty 8Ft long pallet rack system for helping move a storage unit. Made of heavy steel and will hold alot of tanks. Will need to cut it down as it is a warehouse rack system.

oh yea.. the Oscars. They found good home with Alok. He lives about a mile from me.. had a few other Oscars as well as some flowerhorns and other Africans. He was the guy that came to my rescue with a UV sterilizer when I had my algae bloom!... Striking ended up with the catfish. The monster crypts found a lovely setting in my 125 which has all the angels now.

a 20g and 65g all with all sorts of filters lids and other random goodies for $58! Was at a storage place and saw just the smallest corner of the tank as I drove by, threw it in park and asked if it was for sale! and $58 was all I had on me

Re: Post your amazing Deals!!!!!!!
Fern... what a lucky find!...
I'd like some feedback on the next item. Tomorrow, I've an appointment to visit a seafood theme'd restaurant that went out of business. The owner posted an ad: Big Fish Tanks $50.00. I asked him if they were salt or not and he didn't know. So the question is: What does it take to make salt water equipment usuable for freshwater or is it best to just sell off the equipment (except the tanks/stand/lights) and buy fresh water equip? Bill in Va.

Re: Post your amazing Deals!!!!!!!
even the tank and lights will still have salt residue so no fresh in it unless sterilize really well and it's a pain to do.

Rinse and soak, African cichlids are easier to put in old salt tanks, they like the hardness and residual salt. Or run the tank fully set up with no stock and a few big glugs of white vinegar.

Re: Post your amazing Deals!!!!!!!
I just found out there are at least 5 tanks maybe more.. Can't view them till 4:00 today!>.. Should have gone to bed at a reasonable hour last night rather than 5 a.m. Prob could have seen them already.
Thinking that AFTER the vinegar - hot water - elbow grease wash out should stock them with a few neon tetras. I think they are the cheapest - fragile fish avail. Any other suggestions?.. Hell. I'm counting on already buying them!.. Counting chickens from the eggs hey? <grin> Bill in Va.
