I just realized I haven't updated on the restaurant tanks!.. Well.. he wanted 50 each. Plus he had a Koi pond stocked with about 80 koi ranging from 5" to 16"... So I made a deal on the whole shebang. $9999.00. Tanks: 155G tall, 230G lobster tank, 110G Bow front, 2 90G Corner/fan tanks. Each with stand/canopy/sump/UV/filters/lighting. The Koi pond had 2 statue/fountains.. One of which is 3 sailfish tail walking - 6 1/2 feet tall.. the other is a 5 ft american eagle about to capture two fish of which spout water. The pond is 50 feet long, 40 feet of which is 7 feet across, 12-16 inches deep, the last 10 feet or so is 14 feet wide, about 2.5-3 feet deep. Oh, and a 7 foot waterfall that I'll probably have to be leaving behind as I only have one week to get the pond broken down prior to dozers and concrete being poured. Bill in Va.
P.S. Please keep this info local to the south! I'm trying to sell off the tanks and Koi.. 20 fish sold so far... Bill Still in Va.

I got a 240 tank only, for $100, plan to reseal, clean it up and sell it for $300 or use it as a water storage for raw well water to mix with my RO water. Now that the RO is up and running my water is at like 50 ppm (too soft) so a $100 storage tank is a deal in my book.

90G 1/4 cylinder all acrylic tank, drilled and overflow installed, 30G wet/dry sump, 3 Mag Pumps, 250W Metal Halide Lighting system, 25W inline UV filter, plus all of the pvc spray bar, hoses, and ball valves... for less than $200.00.

Oh, and it was all salt equipment. The crusty parts were the tank, but I ran half a gallon of white vinegar thru everything, applied a ridiculous amount of elbow grease, and got guppies to start the tank... funny thing about it... after cleaning it and filling it, I used a hydrometer and registered 0 saline... next day, after all the equipment was running overnight it still registered 0 saline.

I priced an acrylic corner tank @ 90G at about a grand online.

Yes when elbow grease is needed it lowers the price of tanks dramatically. Just hope they never used copper in the tank. That is the only problem buying used salt tanks. I would get a copper test kit and check it out.

That's kind of funny, because I just found out about using "real" copper pennies in your filter to help kill snails... albeit slowly... Got the tip from another fresh water fish keeper. He does that in all of his tanks.

Copper is not good in a tank as it will stay in the silicone and seep out for years and builds up which will kill fish not just snails. If you want to control snail populations pick up some assassin snails. Fern has plenty if you want some let her know.

After cleaning that salt tank and the half dozen snails that were in it, I'm not a fan of dead snail smell and dead snails are kinda difficult to find in a big tank, but the smell is omnipresent.
