Demosonia's arrived!

I'll be taking pics in the a.m. 12 demo's .. along with the 9 Mbuna's...(specie I can't recall right now).. Now I've really gotta git my butt in gear and tear down one wall of my fish room.. build a shelf for the tv..(yea.. a news junkie).. and build a stand for the 155 to house the discus so that the Africans and have the 75 to themselves~!..
The stand for the 155..?.. 6 concrete blocks standing on end.. (2) 2 X 10's.. 6 feet long.. plus a layer of plywood atop that.. Not much room for storage beneath but rock solid!.. and CHEAP!.. Bill in Va.

Ok ok ok.. now remember.. these guys were an impulse bye a week and a day ago.. seems like a month!.. Didn't have a tank ready for them, no plans for Africans so luckily had a well seasoned "car wash" sponge filter.. had some holey rock and an empty 29.. these two pics show the Demosonia's and 9 Maingano's.. oh.. about to receive 10 or so nicholsi fry from one of your members down south!..

Did you plan on having all blue cichlids?

I think it's really neat that one breed has horizontal stripes and the other breed has vertical stripes.

Would they crossbreed and produce blue checkerboard patterns?

Vix.. ya gotta go back in time a bit.. say just after I first met ya and you posted your dual 55 gal stand build. Every issue of what I called mistakes in your design were only perceived cuz I could stand back and analyze load/stress/support etc. I took your basic design and just fine tuned it!..I do admit to "over-engineering"! Bill
