purchased a colony of what i thought to be Hap. Fusco .(haplochromis fuscotaeniatus). the older they get they changing like crazy .

here is the male , has a blue face with red on his bottom fin .not fully colored yet .

asked my source where i bought these and he swears to me they are fuscos .

when i bought this little colony , i had purchased 5 fish , 1 was a colored up male and the other 4 were uncolored,. they wound up being females . so i have 3 males and 2 females . had 2 batches of babies from them so far . going to be growing them out to get babies from the fry before i start selling um.

From pictures I have seen the female doesnt look right for a fusco. The male looks like it could be a fusco but reminds me of the nimbochromis polystigma as well.

in that pic looks like male could be the venustus . but has much more color than it . gona try to get a better pics of male and female ,

they came from a good breeder , so they deff the same species

reclassified as a Nimbochromis - Livingstoni Polystigma (Venustus)

old classification was halpochromis fuscotaniati

Get more pics, I know nothing of them but to me the face shapes dont match......
