Tiny reddish worm from anal area. If you buy from any LFS 2 month quarantine is necessary. As soon as Jill get the name of the medication it will be posted. Most likely a wholesaler so may be all over not just Fort Myers area. It has popped up in many local shops.

Any internal parasite is bad, they eat less and the worms starve them out.

    Levamisole Hydrochloride is the treatment

Yes these worms have become immune to medications so Levamisole HCL is the only treatment it seems that works at this point but it is expensive and hard to find thanks to the FDA.

    Found this on the net:

    Fenbendazole (Brand Name "Panacur")
3CC of powdered Fenbendazole in 100ml of water.
Mix well, add bloodworms and soak them for 1 hour, then dump the entire container in the tank, water and all.
Feed the fish 2x A Day for 2 days.
Then do a good gravel vac and a large water change.
Repeat this treatment in 2 weeks.
A third time 2 weeks following if need be.

Do this as a preventative in your quarantine tank.

Unfortunately camallanus worms have become immune to Fenbendazole. But everyone was treated and all worms are gone.
