Okay, I added melafix and salt but I haven't had this problem in ages and I'm wondering if there's another or better stuff to help him.

Popped, no fungus, like he Hurt himself with sharp and popped with a little blood in it. It might have been with him being terrorized with the green terror

Stop using salt! You can dose with Maracyn in case it is bacterial...
Melafix and Primafix are such weak solutions as to be of no use in a moderate bacterial infection.............Salt accumulates in an aquarium and can eventually cause problems such as osmotic shock....Most fresh water fish are never exposed to salt in the wild.
