I can be dumb at times

Post by FishVixen on Sat Mar 19, 2011 7:50 pm

Rushing around and doing water changes picked up a bottle thinking it was water conditioner and put it in the tank and it clouded up! WTF! Thank goodness it was only half dose water clarifier. Serves me right for rushing. No one effected by it but the cloudy water till it clears. GGRRRRRRRRRR, Even with years of experience mistakes happen.

I have been there too. Forgot to add the conditioner to 2 tanks once and killed along $100 worth of fish, talk about being mad and sad.....

At least yours was a harmless mistake.

I also use more than the recommended dose of prime. That is why I use prime, you can over do it and be just fine!
If I can smell chlorine in my tap water I triple dose with it, the standard is a double dose.

Prime has never killed any of my plants. Hornwort grows like a weed in my tanks.

Im not into the whole live plant thing yet so Prime doesnt kill my plants lol. I do have some indian fern flaoting in one tank but I dont think i could kill it if i tried. I more than doubled it once on accident in the 55 and it didnt seem to mess anything up.

Is here enough nutrients in the water column and lighting to support floating plants
