    MY NAME IS DAVID AND I WAS REFERRED BY ISTROBER. I HAVE HAD A 55 GALLON FRESHWATER TANK FOR OVER A YEAR NOW WHICH I STILL HAVE IN THE GUEST ROOM. 2 OSCARS, 2 PARROTS, 1 RED HEAD SEVERUM, AND SOME CORY CATS I AM BUILDING A 80 GALLON LONG OCEANIC SALTWATER REEF TANK. I AM NEW TO THIS AND HOPE TO GET ALL THE HELP I NEED HERE. ALL I HAVE IN TANK IS WATER AND MY FILTRATION BEEN RUNNING FOR ABOUT A WEEK NOW. I WILL BE PUTTING IN PINK FIJI AND HAITIAN ROCK THIS FRIDAY. ALL THE HELP YOU GUYS CAN OFFER WILL BE VERY APPRECIATED. THANKS AND HOPE TO HEAR FROM YOU ALL SOON.

    Welcome to the forum. Are you going to put sand in the salt tank? Also I think if you add live rock to the system it speeds up the cycle process. I've only been doing salt I think 2 months so we both will be learning lol. Got any plans for fish?

    YES I WILL BE PUTTING LIVE PINK FIJI SAND AND LIVE HAITIAN ROCK ON FRIDAY. ABOUT FISH I AM STILL UNDECIDED WHAT TO GET I AM STILL LEARNING ABOUT ALL THE NAMES BEHAVIOR AND SO ON. WHAT DO YOU GOT?

    I only have a lone clownfish and a pinfish. Not buying anything else till I get the 210 up and running.

    hello an welcome .will cycle faster with live rock ,need about a lb of rock per gallon.i have a deep sand bed you don't have too go that way.live sand is not cheap .

    Hello and welcome to the group, many of our members keep salt water tanks so you have plenty of help.

    Just a little suggestion PLEASE DON'T USE ALL CAPITAL LETTERS because on most internet forums this is equal to shouting at people.

    I'm not much of a saltwater fish keeper but I do know the basic things and I'm always ready to look something up if I have to. Feel free to ask me for help if you need it.
