My perch and 2 of my tanks.

Post by williemcd on Thu Feb 16, 2012 7:51 pm

Fern once commented that she liked naturally planted tanks.. so.. I thought I share my "Perch".. (With an appropriate website on the monitor) and two tanks that are in line of sight about 12 hrs a day... Bill in Va.
Da perch....to the left of the monitor is a 10G with endlers. Behind that tank is another 155G with Angels, a pair of banded Chinese sharks..a dozen ABNP, 2 MONSTER angles, and an adopted 8" pleco.

Just to my left is a 125 Angel tank.. a "red-light" district as I have a spawn coming out of there every 3 weeks!

Lastly is my Discus tank.. Only 7 in there, some approaching 5 inches... ELEVEN more coming in this weekend in an incredible deal! (I'm notoriously cheap). While up in NY visiting my parents for the Christmas holiday ran into a German Blue ram breeder so picked up 6 for $30.00 that now share this tank. This tank is using Safe-T-Sorb as a substrate.. It's an experiment on my part but my plants seem to love the stuff!..

Don't know how I missed this post till now. I love the big tanks, plants look great. Once I get my 150 up and running It's going to be planted using my plant pillows under the substrate.

What's wrong with a pallet rack, lol? Some people are just in a class of their own. Very Happy

Yea.. I've been accused of "having class" with a qualifier of "yea.. all low though"..
Fern.. I've started out with 6 val plants added 4 jungle vals.. Now have harvested about 200 with as many as that to go out the door!
This is another 155G Angle tank. Again populated with the off-shoots of the 6 vals I bought... Urs.. you can see the remaining Kennedy blue upper right..Just above one of the PBPS's that are pumping out spawn every 3 weeks. The two big boy angels are adoptions:

Here is one of the grow-out tanks holding about 60 Silver F2's.. Note yet another "high class stand"..

    bad shot of big boys.:

Maybe I should post this in the DIY?.. but.. what isn't obvious is mostly hidden in the first pic behind my chair. Since I still engage in that disgusting habit of smoking, as do a number of visitors, I built my own ventilation system. I ran down to my local Lowes store and picked up one of those dryer vent kits.. ($6.00).. Cut a hole thru the side of the garage and cut to length the 4-5" column. Cut a length of plywood (that black thing behind the chair) with a cutout. Then I screwed in a computer cooling fan to the face of the plywood. No more complaints from the wife about how "blue" the air is in the Cave! Bill in Va.

    It's not pretty but .. it's a freaking garage!..
    The appearance outside is unobtrusive..
