do you have to have such a bare tank with a flowerhorn. I just noticed yours and vixens tanks have a few toys but nothing else. no sand or anything

Re: Fred pics
With how big his poop is I can only get it out with just the tub of the siphon so a bare tank makes it much easier, when they are smaller you can have substrate but when their turds look well... like big turds substrate just makes it much harder to clean their tank, I have to get in there weekly and run poop patrol to keep his water clean.
Right now he is in a 90g with an aquaclear 110 hang on filter and a cascade 1500 canister and I still feel that he needs more filtration, a foot long fish as fat as Fred is creates a LOT of waste!

Re: Fred pics
Ahh so I see. So not realy my kind of fish haha. he is still realy cool though. But I dont realy get into fish that big. The black ghost knife and the loaches will be the biggest fish I have had except for koi in a pond. But they will be very slow growing so no worries there. Im shure that I will be able to figure it out by the time they get that size.

Well he has always been bigger than normal! I bet he will have a growth spurt when I get him into the 125g!
