I just got a new tank - a 72gallon bowfront with stand, filters, heater, glass tops, light, all the goods, for $40.

Now, seeing as how the tank was super cheap (thank you craigslist!) I feel like I have more freedom to spend money on it. Total cost so far is awfully low so the total investment won't be such a hit.

If YOU had just found this awesome deal on CL, what would you do with the tank? It came with a huge bn pleco, a pair of black skirted tetras, a silver dollar, and a really large red wag platy. I can either rehome these dudes or put them back in the 72 when its up and running but I don't want them in my other tanks. They're hangin in one tank that I emptied for the move (overcrowded the other tank but its temporary).

I THINK I know what I'm going to do with it thanks to Fern's bad influence lol and this site http://www.somethingsphishy.com/index.php?cPath=21 that has me excited at the thought of a mystery discus lol so it may be for discus or it may be for angels - on the fence for now, but either way I'll be getting better lights for it and planting it I THINK.

What would you do if a 72gallon bowfront practically landed in your lap?

If you are on the fence then let you wallet tell you whether to get discus or angels. The care is pretty much the same discus just cost more and take a little more care. You are still going to want 6 of them no matter what you decide on.
Yes you need to plant it cheers But I am a sucker for a planted tank lol!

The silver dollar needs to be re-homed due to size and temperament, the rest can go in there just fine.

HHmmm, well if you get discus from somethingphishy have some furicen2 on hand, they don't do well on flake so frozen & live is essential with them until you can get them weaned/started to eat some flake as supplement.

What would I put in there?? There are so many choices LOL but would probably do angels since the future breeder tank is a bit full. Then would put a couple different species of dwarf cichlids in there along the lines of a trio of apistos & probably checkerboards since they do well with discus or angels.

    Money no object? Discus
    Community? Dwarf Cichlids.
    Tranquility? Angels and tets.
