Bill.... cant go too bargain on lighting, we want to do some serious corals and for what that light will do the cost is pretty reasonable!

Re: Tank Build
The sumpo thing is sitting outside with all sorts of revamping notes written on it. Whom ever built it was an idiot that's for sure, needs quite a bit of tweaking before it will do what we want it to.

Re: Tank Build
My postman is named Andy.. A key member of Richmond Reefers.. I'll post his thread here if it's ok... He suplements the hobby by raising frags. One of his tanks is constructed from the bullet proof glass/whatever from a bank.. like over an inch thick.... OK to post his link? Bill in Va.

Re: Tank Build
Andy, my mailman has no issues sharing his link. The shame is he rarely visits due to his overwhelming involvement in salt forums. But..he is on Richmond Reefers with the same s/n. ANY questions I'm sure he can address:

FishVixen wrote:There is a rod inside the stand to hang a curtain to hide the sump when we want to. Will buy some cheapo sheets and make curtains that can be washed easily.
Two suggestions for curtains, either buy the fabric at joannes and sew them up, or go to Goodwill they sell sheets for like $2 and curtains for $4

Re: Tank Build
Nice build. That star is Asterina, there's a HUGE number of species, and some are coral predators, and some are just annoying.

Re: Tank Build
powerhead in the fuge is a good idea, but don't go crazy with the flow. Fuge should be low flow area anyway, you just want enought o keep the crap from stickin.

Re: Tank Build
The miracle mud would blast all over the place if we did a powerhead in there. The full tank flows through the fuge and it seems like I have enough flow through there for the algae to do its job, I figure for the first month I will be needing to dust it off from time to time and I'm good with that.
