I'm scraping the bottom of my 7.06 oz tetra min all purpose flake food which I use as a staple... supplemented of course by either: frozen blood worms/frozen brine shrimp or frozen beef heart.. So I'm thinking about buying a 2-5 lb tub of flake. Who makes their own, who buys from Kensfish and who has a 3rd alternative? Bill in Va.

Not to fond of tubifex worms, they live in nasty water. But then again my fish eat better than I do

Re: Fish Foods.
I'll comment about Ken's.
If you are a regular consumer and you are looking for something different that the regular chain stores don't carry, then Ken's is the place to go. The price is reasonable since they do package all the stuff themselves.
If you want generic staple food just buy a big 25 lb box.

Re: Fish Foods.
My lfs has a flake called "cichlid frenzy" everything from the cichlids down to the lone betta like it. Not counting $15 a pound isn't bad when it only last me a bit over 2 weeks.
The other place I really like the food/flake is from Angels Plus these guys & gals inhale it. They fry pellet sample they send along was awesome stuff there wasn't one of them that turned their nose up to it. Haven't tried Kensfish flake as of yet since for feasibilities sake and the legnth of time a pound lasts over the long run it was more reasonable to buy bulk from a source that they like and offer discounts for large purchases
Do feed some pellets for Missy's sake but since the one lfs went out of business its been hard to find one(s) she likes (okay yes she's a spoiled rotten B) so the new lfs offered me a full refunds until we found one that she would eat.
Then I also buy straight earthworm flake, spirulina and others here and there for them. Missy gets here bi-weekly dozen crickets and sundays the kids do bug hunting for her
