I got my hands on 1 male and 5 females. They dropped 6 fry in the first week, shocked to see the fry are so big. Not sure if it was one female or two that dropped but either way that's some big babies to push out.

Exactly, the fry are born the size of a half grown Guppy, about half inch or a little bigger.

And they are a collector's item. Being completely extinct in the wild.

The Ameca river in Mexico has been polluted by restaurants and hotels catering to tourist in Puerto Vallarta, to the point where it cannot sustain any life at all.

Yes, that is a sad but true fact, Mexico has allowed tourism to destroy the natural resources in that area. I am currently trying to find more species from that area. The American Livebearer Association will be having it's annual convention on the east coast of Florida and I think I'll find some for sale there.

If I liked those fish I'd look into getting some to, but they look like huge guppies. It's sad though the only way to keep the species alive is in a fish tank Sad

Think there is a trio for sale on aquabid for $17
