I follow his auction items with a fever!... I'm looking for a new batch to start rearing myself!... Hoping to split a dozen with someone else... raise them till one pairs up and sell off the rest. Would love to end up with like 5 or 6 pairs of different strains... I've got 3 of Vix's pigeon bloods and 6 Scorpions (Blue Dia and Blue Snake mix).. None of which have even thought about pairing!.. not sure of the age of the PB's (Vix?) but the scorpions are 2/11/11 so got a few more months I think until they show any interest. Bill in Va.

So I got to visit these guys yesterday and got a few pics! Half have died off, but the survivors are stunning!

They are being raised for brood stock, they should make some very nice young! And have better survival rate because they are in normal conditions not super fancy super sterile water and tanks that remind me of a ICU ward Laughing

The fish are amazing but It would never happen in my tanks. It would be unfair to the fish and unfair to my wallet to spend that kind of money to watch them die off.

When I had them I was doing bi-weekly water changes and so is the guy who has them now who is a discus breeder. Still half of them died off. I think he keeps them in way too sterile of an environment, His fish room looks like a sterile hospital room, something not many people want! I had much better success with discus from other sources, only one of those died and he should have been culled from the start he was so messed up, I took him just to give him a happy home while he was around. None of my discus were stunted unless I got them that way.
I treated them like you would any other fish just with a little RO water mixed into their water, thats the only special thing I did for them, now they dont even get that. They breed just fine in normal water. No need for the anal water changes and sterility.

I thought about bidding on some of Snookin21's plecos. Have you guys had good experiences with him?
