I slice it up and put it in the freezer in Ziploc bags either laid out individually or with wax paper between the slices, then I thaw it in tank water, stab it with a stainless steel fork and drop it in.

When I am cooking the ends of random veggis just get tossed in random tanks, if they are well fed and eat it that means they like it and its ok for them. A well fed fish is not going to eat something thats not good for them most of the time.
