    What kind of wood have you used successfully in your tanks?

    My personal favorite is orange tree branches. I have also used cypress with good results.

    I like oak as it is common around here. I though cypress was an evergreen with to much sap. Guess the older tress are okay. Also used dried oak leaves in my tanks for tannins and to lower ph.

    Never thought of using oak, I will have to try that!

    I always use very dead very dry wood.

    I have used Oak, and most Branches from fruit trees. anything hardwood, with tiny little pores, can be checked when cut into
