They are predators and will snag any fish that they think they can eat. You also have to fully dismantle the tank to get them out of it. Other than that they are really cool shrimp!

They will also attack you if you put your hand in the tank. I had one that showed up on a live rock and it got me good and drew blood. Killed everything in the tanks before I could get it out.

Had a green one at my lfs (hence my info) I fed him krill when I was in there hand feeding corals.
You really don't see them very much at all, to show him to customers we had to lure him out of his cave with krill.

I barely ever seen the one in my tank, but still had dead bodies. He must have been hungry and scared cause he got my finger moving rock to catch him.

We used to catch them shrimping here....We called them thumb rippers....If you grabbed one it would cut your hand bad enough to need stiches.

some of the beefier ones can crack your aquarium glass. Awesome creatures though, truly amazing. Scientists theorize they can communicate telepathically with other members of the species, and generally consider the mantis the most evolved species on the planet.

    GET IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the frikin things are beutifull and have tons of personality!!!
just be carefull with your CUC in the tank
it should be the only thing in the tank
they also do very well by their selves in reefs
so their ya go 2 birds with one stone\you get a reef and an awsome shrimp thatll have visitors in AWW....
they do ok in takes with oother fish. the fish will learn to stay away (they may snag small enough fish)
they mainly go after hermits and such (cuc members)

theyre very hardy critters and are Really easy to care for
