Home Made Diaphragms Empty Home Made Diaphragms

Post by williemcd Fri Jan 04, 2013 5:33 pm

Ok.. a friend of mine gave me a linear airpump... And Fish Vixen left me another one but both.. and the friend has a need for replacement diaphragms, have needs for replacement diaphragms... I can find them online but am sure there is a local/cheap material so that I can make my own. Has anyone climbed this little challenge? Bill in Va.

Oh, these are flexible disc that close off the air-ports on on exhaust and flex enough on the input stage of the cycle.

They used to be made out of leather.
Let me pop one of mine open and ponder on it.

Butter lid is too rigid. The texture from the disintegrated one I have it is not much thicker than a glove they use in the OR but a tad more rigid.

Well I did think about that too lol But they are thinner than gloves so I ditched that idea and came up with rain coat like poncho. Plus it would dry out and crack really fast, weird latex is used for those. But that would be funny!
"What did you fix your air pump with?"
"Oh The Trojan man fixed it"
