My name's Mac, and uh..I like fish!
I have a 120g with an oscar and a pleco, a 10g with a baby map turtle, a 50g with a red eared slider, a 40g with a yellow belly slider, a 10g planted community, and my newest setup is a 2.5g planted, and i'm making my own 2 gallon filtration system directly under it. i got into this hobby about four years ago when i got the oscar although i did have the red ear slider for about...8 or 9 years before that. and that's my story for now!

Welcome Mac, we have a few people here that also have turtles. We all have some do it yourself projects and maybe you could post the progress on your filtration system when you are putting it together. Our next official meeting will be in December and the info should be posted in the next few days. How did you hear about our goup?

Sounds good, I just put in a tiny pvc overflow going down to it. And yeah, turtles are fun. always smiling back. I've made a couple DIY turtle toppers if you'd like to see that, too. I simply bumped into this site and figured it would be beneficial to actually join something like this. What are the meetings like? and to Fern, his name is Brutus Hellooo 2044743960 and to ktk, sweet! I'll get around to posting pictures eventually. I'm in high school and pretty busy with extra curriculars, so I can't promise for them to come quickly, though!

    We love any DIY!!!!
The meetings are really fun, we have a speaker (usually in the group) Then a small auction then we all just kind of hang out and talk fish! Great way to make more local fishy friends!

Yes, the meetings are pretty laid back, we do have a routine and we try to keep it lively. Each month we have a presentation about something related to fish keeping. We also have an auction at each meeting and that is a good cheap way to get fish or products you might want. Since we are getting quite a few members with turtles we might be able to work up a presentation about that some time next year.
